Being Discipled

Saving the Lost and Discipling The Saved
Here at Koinonia Christian Church we have accepted the mandate by Jesus to go forth and make disciples. One of our key areas of obedience is to help believers grow in their faith and have spiritual impact in their families and communities by becoming disciples.
There are six steps to being discipled culminating in our disciple-maker programs; Men of Joshua and Women’s Discipleship Class. For men, we have the Men of Joshua curriculum and for women we have the Women’s Discipleship Class. These two programs are designed to create disciples in the church to further God’s mission of sharing His word and gospel. These classes require a commitment not just from the individual, but from their families as well. Each class lasts several weeks during which we cover core principles of discipleship, scripture, service, evangelism and more.

NEXT CLASS
NEXT is designed to cover some of the basics of your Christian faith. The heartbeat of NEXT is discipleship. The core meaning of discipleship is one life pouring into another.
One of the ways we figure out how to live as a Christian is to imitate the model of another seasoned Christian that has been walking with Christ. You’ll have questions, challenges, success and failure. This is all part of growing! Jesus clearly pointed out the most important part of being a Christian: relationships. As your travel through this discipleship experience, the greatest thing that can happen is for you to deepen your relationships – with God and with others.
Men of Joshua
The Men of Joshua curriculum is based on the premise that “every man should be the pastor of his own home.” Imagine if every man lived the qualifications of a Pastor. What would that do to our homes, churches, communities and nations? The curriculum features model lessons and offers a glimpse into Pastor Ronnie Goines’ background as the son of a single mother whose teachers and coaches believed in him.
Men enrolled in the curriculum commit to 14 weeks involving mandatory attendance at discipleship classes, Bible study, prayer meetings, evangelism, outreaches and worship. They must have a job, actively serve, practice stewardship and pass content exams. Single or married men are invited to take the course. Upon completion, disciples then become disciple-makers, who themselves are able to lead and disciple others.
“Jesus, in the Great Commission, never said, ‘Go and make Christians. He said, ‘Go and make disciples.’ It is the job of the Holy Spirit to make Christians. It is the job of us to make disciples. God always chooses us to disciple us.”
— Pastor Ronnie Goines

Women's Discipleship Class
Our Women’s Discipleship Class is a vibrant and welcoming space for women to grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, and walk alongside one another in life and spiritual journey. Rooted in sisterhood and strengthened through fellowship, this class offers a place where women can be real, find encouragement, and deepen their relationship with God together.
Whether you’re new to your faith or looking to go deeper, you’ll find a supportive community of women ready to pray with you, learn with you, and walk beside you as we pursue Christ and His purpose for our lives through discipleship.
Our Kingdom Directive
Learn about our church, what we believe, the discipleship process and more.
Who are we?
We are welcoming and faith-filled community of believers dedicated to worship, service, and spiritual growth. Our mission is to share God’s love, strengthen our faith, and serve our local community.
What do we believe?
We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of God’s love to transform lives. Our church upholds the authority of the Bible, the importance of prayer, and the calling to live out our faith through worship, fellowship, and service.
We believe in the universal church, which is composed of everyone who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, irrespective of race, creed or culture. We believe that water baptism is an act of obedience to Jesus and an outward sign of our entrance into the body of Christ. We believe that communion is the sacred right and a privilege of every believer. It should be shared solemnly as often as desired for the purpose of communing with our Lord and Savior as one body in Christ.
We believe in the great commission to; “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things commanded of God.
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We uphold God’s word as our rule of law and order.
The Discipleship Process
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20
One of our main missions is to be obedient to the command of Jesus and make disciples through our discipleship programs. To be discipled here at Koinonia Christian Church, you must complete a six step process outlined in the below image.
How do you operate?
We maintain a core team of professionals who oversee all executive functions and decisions at the church. This includes adhering to strict city, state and federal guidelines when it comes to church operations. Our financial records are subject to many audits to ensure those same guidelines are not only being met but exceeded. We operate in full transparency.
All decisions are done through prayer and collaboration. We stand on obedience to the call and Word of God. All positions at the church function under our Kingdom Directive which is centered on uplifting the name of Jesus.
Being a member and the covenant
Being a member is open to everyone who has accepted Christ as their savior and are in agreement with our Kingdom Directive. Each member takes upon themselves our covenant. Understanding that you are not only a member of the church but a gifted and empowered minister within this church and thus commit to discovering your gifts and talents, to being equipped and discipled to minister more effectively, and to develop a servant’s heart of love in order to connect people with Christ.
As a Transformed Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you take this covenant together with other members to attend faithfully, to worship joyfully, to grow consistently, to give generously, to share Jesus boldly and to live a Godly life.
